MNT160 million has been allocated
from the Ulaanbaatar city budget to give a bronze cover to the statue of
Kh.Choibalsan in front of the University of Mongolia, to put it on a stone pedestal,
and to plant greenery around it. The statue was erected in 1946, when
Choibalsan was alive and in power, and the country was celebrating the 25^th
anniversary of the People’s Revolution. This is the first major renovation of
the statue and the work will be finished before September 1.

There has been some criticism
that public money is being spent on glorifying founders of the MPP in the year
of the 90^th anniversary of the People’s Revolution.
