The
Standing Committee on Social Policy, Education, Culture and Science yesterday
reported on its work during the Spring session. Its chief, D.Ochirbat, said the
committee held 14 meetings and discussed 22 legislative issues. It also
disposed of applications and complaints from 35 citizens and 141 organizations.
Among
the more important items discussed were a draft law on employment and another
on the responsibilities of labor exchanges. It also discussed draft laws on
narcotic drugs and on mothers with many children.
It
plans to utilize the present recess to organize public discussions on ways to
reduce unemployment to seek the views of scholars, analysts, ordinary citizens,
Government officials and representatives of nongovernmental organizations on
the problem. Another meeting will be organized in Bayankhongor aimag to discuss
issues of health, education and employment.
