Participants at an open discussion organized by the Ministry of Social Welfare and Labor on Friday agreed on the need to amend the law on labor as several of its provisions have lost their relevance since being adopted in 1996. Apart from being outdated, they are sometimes unclear and also inflexible. This particularly affects their implementation in small organizations.

Minister T. Gandhi noted that the law is silent on part time employment as the concept was unknown in Mongolia when it was adopted.
