Prime Minister S.Batbold today inaugurated
a meeting of the Executive Council of the Asian Pacific Postal Union (APPU),
attended by 200 delegates from its 32 member countries and 18 observer
countries. APPU is
an inter-governmental organization of postal administrations of the
Asian-Pacific region. APPU and  is
affiliated to the Universal Postal
Union, which is a specialized agency of the United Nations. The purpose
of the APPU is to extend, facilitate and improve postal relations between
member countries and to promote cooperation in the field of postal services.

Batbold asked for increased
Mongolian participation in both unions, including more jobs for Mongolians in
the Universal Postal Union.

Mongol Post LLC is hopes to
conclude a special agreement of cooperation with the Chinese postal
organization to help movement of mail from Mongolia through China.
