On Tuesday (22nd November), J.Erdenebat, Prime Minister of Mongolian received His Excellency Takenori Shimizu, Ambassador of Japan to Mongolia. The Japanese diplomat has come the end of his five-year posting to Ulaanbaatar and is to return to Tokyo today. For almost 40 years, the two countries have worked closely in science, economy, trade and social development. During the meeting, Mr. J.Erdenebat noted that during Ambassador Shimizu's five year tenure as Tokyo's Ambassador, Mongolia and Japan have signed the bi-lateral Economic Partnership Agreement. In addition, during this period, high level visits between the two countries have become more regular; for example Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe visited Mongolia three times in 2011-2016 and the President of Mongolia has visited Tokyo twice.

Ambassador Shimizu said ‘It feels just like yesterday that I arrived in Mongolia …and now I am returning. Time has flown! Mongolia had the chance to develop and still does. I believe that If the new government pursues the right policy, Mongolia could develop over the next three years’. He asked Prime Minister J.Erdenebat to support his successor.
