Former Prime Minister N.Altankhuyag has announced that he will run for the office of President of Mongolia in next year's election. Earlier today (9^th of November), Mr Altankhuyag called a press conference at Ulaanbaatar's Tuushin Hotel today, during which he accused Mongolian People’s Party of breaking its election campaign pledges and trying to seize power at all levels of government.

N.Altankhuyag served as PM in the previous Democratic Party government before being ousted by MPs, including some from his own party, in a 'no-confidence' vote in 2014. He had been accused of economic mismanagement, corruption and nepotism.

N.Altankhuyag served as the 27^th Prime Minister of Mongolia from 2012 to 2014.
