In a break with tradition, several Standing Committees have not reported
on their work during the Spring session even though Parliament went into recess
10 days ago. Parliament Office records show the committee on Social Policy,
Education and Science would do this in August, and that on Security and Foreign
Policy in September, while that on the State Structure and the Budget would not
publicize any report at all.

All 76 MPs and most members of the Government are on vacation. MPs are
expected to use the time to secure public opinion on several pending drafts, so
that they can be suitably changed before they are discussed in the Autumn
session. The budget allocates MNT20 million for this work, but there has been
no report so far that any MP is doing this.
