The Mongolian athletes who won medals at the Rio Olympics have received cash prizes from Prime Minister J.Erdenebat and J.Batsuuri, Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports at a special ceremony in Government House. Olympic silver medalist D.Sumya, bronze medalist D.Otgondalai, B.Uugankhuu and Sodnompiljee as well as their coaches B.Narantuya, D.Batsuren, Sh.Enkhsaikhan were the honoured with the prizes. During the ceremony, Prime Minister J.Erdenebat congratulated the coaches and athletes for winning medals for Mongolia in Rio.
In accordance with a governmental resolution, an Olympic silver medalist will receive a cash prize of 60 million tugriks, a bronze medalist – MNT 30 million while their coaches will receive cash equivalent to half that received by their athletes.
