Mongolian doctor leads debate at cancer congress

France hosted the 24th World Cancer Congress in Paris from 31st of October to 3rd of November. The biennial meeting was attended by a total of 3500 attendees from over 120 countries. At the meeting, Mongolian doctor of medicine  B.Tsetsegsaikhan, advisor of Minister of Health led international speakers, who presented their essay on the theme of ‘Methods to reduce non-communicable disease by 2030’. A total of eight speakers from the USA, Australia, Brazil, Kenya, Rwanda, Argentina and Mongolia were appointed as leaders.

Francois Hollande, President of France  and Queen Letizia of Spain participated the opening ceremony of the World Cancer Congress. The biggest leap in deaths from cancer is expected to come from low- and middle-income countries, according to a report presented at the World Cancer Congress in Paris. The highest death rates were seen in poorer nations such as Zimbabwe, Malawi, Kenya, Mongolia and Papua New Guinea, where access to health care is less developed.
