Voting for the elections for the people’s representatives for the soums and districts of Ulaanbaatar took place on October 19th. However, the election turnout was insufficient at polling stations in seven districts of the Mongolian capital. As a result, citizens of Ulaanbaatar’s 79 khoroo voted again on Sunday (23rd of October). As a result, the Mongolian People’s Party won in six districts, namely, Baganuur, Bagakhangai, Nalaikh, Songinokhairkhan, Khan-Uul and Chingeltei. The Democratic party won the remaining three districts; Bayangol, Sukhbaatar and Bayanzurkh, reported the General Election Committee on Monday (24th of October). The turnout on the second voting day reached 54%.
