Last month, meeting in New York, the executive board of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) approved a new programme for Mongolia for 2017-2021. Under the programme, UNFPA will implement a USD15 million project to increase sexual and reproductive health and awareness, rights, youths development and equal gender rights in Mongolia.
Deputy Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh, had a meeting with Naomi Kitahara, UNFPA representative, earlier today (17th of October). At the beginning of the meeting, U.Khurelsukh thanked to UNFPA for implementing so many programmes and projects in Mongolia.
In Mongolia, UNFPA supports the government in the use of population data and statistics for policies and programmes to reduce poverty and to ensure that every birth is safe and wanted.
