The 5th Asian Beach Games are currently taking place in Vietnam, under the auspices of the Olympic Council of Asia. Despite being a landlocked country, Mongolia has proved strong at the Beach Games. The Central Asian country has grabbed six medals in the wrestling category; namely two golds, one and four silvers.

A total of 37 Mongolian athletes are participating in seven sport categories, namely, ju-jitsu, sambo, kurash, bodybuilding, petanque, volleyball and basketball. Athletes from 54 countries are competing in 21 categories. The Asian Beach Games are being held at the popular tourist destination of Nha Trang from 24th of September to 3rd of October.
Mongolia has participated in three previous Asian Beach Games, winning its only gold so far in beach wrestling in Bali in 2008.
