Pyongyang’s ambassador to Mongolia has officially asked for humanitarian aid for North Korea, which is currently recovering  from massive flood damage. Tens of thousands of people have been affected by some of the worst floods in recent history. North Korea has formally asked for help from Mongolia and other nations such as Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey and Cuba. The nation urgently needs assistant for food, fresh water and clothes. The Government of Mongolia is to discuss delivering aid to North Korea.

The U.N. resident coordinator said in the appeal Monday that 138 people have been killed, 398 people remain missing and at least 118,000 people are in immediate need of assistance, including 37,000 who have been made homeless by the disaster.
