The State Specialized Inspecting Agency has checked conditions in 61
petroleum and inflammable gas storage facilities, and 636 petrol stations in
Ulaanbaatar and all 21 aimags. It has found that 72 of these did not have
permission from any proper authority. Many fuel stations also showed
discrepancy in stock. The SSIA has asked 311 stations for an explanation, has closed
29 more, and has levied fines amounting to MNT15.3 million.
