The Chinggis Khaan statue in
Tsonjin boldog in Erdene soum of Tuv aimag would soon have figures of 10,000 cavalry
troops on its right, and the rest of the 140-hectare area will have figures of
women and children representing the 13th century. The whole
construction project will take five years. The French company chosen as
consultant is now working on deciding on the right material to withstand the
severe winter of Mongolia. Bronze will be used for the most part.
The plan is to make a distinctly
individual of each of the 10,000 soldiers, as well as of the ordinary people.
Those selected to model for the statues would be awarded a certificate and a
small replica of the figure they modeled for.
