Ulaanbaatar city mayor S.Batbold is currently visiting Ulan-Ude, the capital city of Russia’s Republic of Buryatia. The trip, which lasts from 1st to 4th of September, is his first official visit to Ulan-Ude and comes at the invitation of Mayor Alexander Golkov. More than 10 mayors of Russian cities as well as the governors of Mongolia’s Darkhan and Orkhon provinces are in the Buryat capital to participate in the 350th anniversary of Ulan-Ude.

The Mongolian-Russian agreement on terms for reciprocal visa-free travel of its passport holders for up to 30 days has been effective since November. The visa-free regime has brought closer Mongolia-Russian relations. Many Mongolians studied at universities and institutes in Ulan-Ude in past decades.
