Canadian politician Geoff Regan, who is Speaker of the House of Commons, is currently visiting Ulaanbaatar at the invitation of Mongolian Parliamentary Speaker M.Enkhbold. As a part of visit, on Friday, 9^th of September, Geoff Regan met children of a kindergarten, which is being funded by the Canadian Foreign Ministry today.

‘Children of the Sun’ kindergarten is located at the Ulaanchuluut rubbish tip in the Songino-Khairkhan district of the capital. Hundreds of homeless children live here without access to education and forage for scraps at the Ulaanchuluut rubbish tip in order to survive. The ‘Children of the Sun’ kindergarten has now met the criteria to be an urban development project. This remarkable kindergarten is run by Mrs. Julie Welu, a Canadian citizen.
