There are a total of 224 schools in Ulaanbaatar, of which 135 are state-owned and 89 private. The new academic year in Mongolia begins today (1^st September). This year, 230 thousand pupils will attend school and 31 thousand Mongolian children will start school for the first time. In total 101650 children attend the 597 kindergartens in Ulaanbaatar.
