The Mongolian authorities have warned the public about counterfeit 20 thousand tugrik and 100 yuan bank notes which are in circulation. Concern emerged after counterfeit notes were discovered in two banks in Ulaanbaatar. The fake 20000 tugrik note discovered in a branch of the Golomt Bank and the fake 100 yuan in the State Bank yesterday (31th August).

The police authority for the Khan-Uul and Bayangol districts of the capital has launched an investigation to track the source of the fake notes.
