After ASEM (Asia-European summit meeting), Ulaanbaatar is to host the XI International Congress of Mongolists (ICM). Under the auspices of President Ts.Elbegdorj, the 11th Congress is to convene from 15 to 18 of August.  In total 400 academics from 29 countries will have discussions under themes of ‘Linguistic Studies’, ‘Studies in History and Archaeology’, ‘Studies of Arts and Culture’, ‘Socio-Economic Studies' and ‘Studies of Civilization and Regional Relations’.

The Congress will be organized in collaboration with the Mongolian Academy of Science, the National Council for Mongolian Studies, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science of Mongolia as well as  top Mongolian universities such as MSUE, the National University of Mongolia, the Mongolian University of Science and Technology and the Mongolian State University of Arts and Culture.

According to the International Mongolian Studies Federation, the ICM takes place once every five years under the auspices of the President of Mongolia. During the ICM, international specialists will discuss the achievements of the last five years in the field of Mongolian studies. The previous congress was attended by 250 foreign specialists from 25 countries and 100 local specialists. On this occasion, the organizers are anticipating that approximately 400 Mongolists will attend.
