In accordance with Decree 92 of Ts.Elbegdorj,  President and Commander-in-Chief of the Mongolian Armed Forces, which was approved by the Government of Mongolia,  the “Student Soldier” program has been successfully implemented  in 2014, 2015 and 2016.

A total of 986 student soldiers from Mongolian universities and institutes who are serving in the army took the oath on Friday (12^th August)  on Chinggis Khaan Square, showing respect to the banner of the Mongolian Armed Forces.

At the oath taking ceremony, President Ts.Elbegdorj, the Head of the Office of the President of Mongolia and Defence Minister D.Bat-Erdene, the Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General D.Davaa, the Chair of the Union of Mongolian Students, senior officials from the Ministry of Defence, the general staff of the Mongolian Armed Forces, the soldiers' families and civilians were present. Following the ceremony, the student soldiers marched in a military parade.

A total of 1500 students have participated in “Student Soldier” programme over the last two years. This summer, 986 student from institutes and universities, served in the Mongolian army. The programme cost MNT721 million in 2014, 835.1 million in 2015 – this year the same sum of 835.1 million is being paid from the 2016 from Mongolian State Budget.
