Parliament agreed on Friday that minimum wages should be fixed on the basis of hours worked, and not months, as has been the practice since the socialist times.  The draft amendment was sent to the concerned Standing Committees which will prepare it for the next reading in Parliament. Once it becomes law, the minimum wages would become MNT640 per hour and MNT5,120 per day.  At present, they are MNT108,000 per month.
