MPs voiced strong criticism of the Government’s failure to reduce air pollution as the Standing Committee on Budget yesterday discussed budget outlines for 2012 and a general draft of the budget in 2013 and 2014. S. Oyun wanted action to be taken against Ministers who could show no result in bringing down pollution. D. Gankhuyag supported her but took the demand further, saying both the Government and Parliament should be dismissed if they could do nothing about the reduction.

L.Gantumur and S.Oyun wanted information on the progress and status of the Clean Air project, for which MNT30 billion was allocated. Minister for Finance S.Bayartsogt said he would discuss the issue with the Prime Minister and the Minister for Nature, Environment and Tourism and let MPs know.
