Over 30 students and teachers from the ‘Khamag Mongol’ Centre for Professional Development have demonstrated outside the head office of the giant MCS Group in central Ulaanbaatar. In temperatures of -17 C, they called to stop disrespecting the name of Chinggis Khaan.

Mongolia will mark Chinggis Khaan’s birthday and National Pride Day on 19 November. On this occasion, students want to unite the public to stop using products which are considered to be disrespecting the name of Chinggis Khaan. The students said: ‘We can’t forbid the production of Chinggis Vodka however, we can stop using this’. The petition to stop disrespecting the names of ancestors, has been signed by nearly 40 thousand people.
