It’s become a tradition for the Order of Chinggis Khaan to be awarded on National Pride Day, to celebrate the birth of the great Mongolian emperor. The honour is presented to the one person who has contributed most to either strengthening Mongolia’s independence, sovereignty, and national unity, or for studying Mongolian statehood, history, culture, and tradition in depth, and relaying that knowledge to younger generations and promoting it worldwide.

Every year, Mongolia celebrates the birthday of Chinggis Khaan on the first day of winter according to the traditional Mongolian calendar as a national holiday. This year, Mongolian President Kh.Battulga will present the award tomorrow 15 November at the State House at 12.00 p.m.

According to our sources, there are three nominations for the top award namely, Olympic and World champion judoka N.Tuvshinbayar, sumo ‘yokozuna’ Hakuho M.Davaajargal and poet D.Uriankhai.

Since 2005, a total of ten people have been awarded the Order of Chinggis Khaan.
