As reported last week, Mongolian President Kh.Battulga issued a decree, on 26 October, awarding individuals who have achieved great success in their professions. Olympic silver medalist, judoka D.Sumiya has been honoured with the title of Hero of Labour of Mongolia and granted the Golden Soyombo pin and Order of Sukhbaatar for her contribution to the history of Mongolian judo wrestling. However, it was only today (1 November) that she received the award from the President of Mongolia. This was because D.Sumiya was competing in the Grand Slam competition when President Battulga handed the awards to the other athletes.

D.Sumiya won a silver medal at the Rio-2016 Olympics as well as gold and bronze medals from the World Judo Championships.
