The VIII Bogd Khaan Palace Museum
today opens an exhibition of rare art objects, including paintings of deities,
the Choijin Lama’s knotted steel sword with spiritual power, an Arabian sword
of the 13^th century. Many of the items have not been displayed previously.
They include an appliqué Ochirvaani, made during the V Bogd’s reign.

The VIII Bodg Khaan ruled over a
territory of 2.5 million square km, with 1200 temples, 200,000 lamas and
600,000 people. He and his Queen Dondogdulam owned four palaces and collected
items of value and interest to add to the store from previous kings that included
gifts from foreign countries.
