During his visit to Lithuania,President Ts.Elbegdorj went to Vilnius University, one of the oldest centers of
learning in Europe, and saw its Mongolian collection. This includes works and
material collected by famous Mongolian scholar, Yu.Kovalevskii, ancient
dictionaries of Mongolian, both scholarly and travelers’ accounts of life in
Mongolia, and maps showing Mongolia that date from the Middle Ages.
The President requested the university to admit some Mongolian students and to
start a Mongolian studies and research section.
