A proposal by the Mehr News Agency
of Iran to establish an OANA training center was welcomed by a majority of
participants at OANA meeting in Ulaanbaatar on Wednesday. MNA also announced
its readiness to host the first and second training courses in the next two
years.

MNA
joined the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) in 2007 and since
then it has played an important role in decisions taken by the organization.

Directors
of news agencies from member countries met in Ulaanbaatar on Tuesday, with
Prime Minister S. Batbold giving the opening speech. Established in 1961, OANA
aims to secure direct and free flow of news in the region. Turkey currently
holds the rotating presidency of OANA.
