
Following the July 1 incidents in 2008, the MPP publicly acknowledged the need to change the system of election to Parliament. People still remember that the agreement made between the two parties to form a coalition government contained a clear provision that they would reform the parliament election system.
The Civil Will-Green Party appreciates that the DP is working on the promise, while the MPP has backed out of it. The statement warned that a failure by Parliament to adopt an amended law on election in the present session might seriously affect the way next year’s election is contested.
