The first item on the agenda of President Ts.Elbegdorj’s official visit to the USA was a meeting yesterday with about 600 Mongolians in San Francisco. The President briefly spoke about policies and activities of the Government and answered questions, which were mostly on grant of voting rights to Mongolians abroad, dual citizenship, transparency in granting Government scholarship for study in foreign countries, and fair competition in the job market.

The editor of the Zamdaan, a Mongolian newspaper in the USA, D.Tserendorj, told the meeting that the establishment of the Civil Chamber in Ulaanbaatar at the President’s initiative has encouraged Mongolians in the USA to set up similar Civil Chambers in Washington D.C, San Francisco and Seattle. He added that 832 Mongolians in San Francisco have so far taken part in an online discussion on the draft law on election to Parliament.

Foreign Minister G.Zandanshatar, Ambassador to the USA Kh.Bekhbat, the head of the  DP group in Parliament, Ch.Saikhanbileg, Foreign Policy Advisor to the President, L.Purevsuren, Advisor to the President, A.Ganbaatar, and others officials accompanying the President were present at the meeting.
