
Mongolia was among the countries taking part in the 16th Assembly of the 189-member World Meteorological Organization in Geneva between May 26 and June 2. The Mongolian delegates included its Ambassador to Switzerland, L.Orgil, the Chief of the Meteorological Research Office, S.Enkhtuvshin, and the Director of the Forecast and Meteorology Institute, G.Sarantuya.
Delegates discussed the implications of climate change and the various challenges it posed, ways to resolve them, and preventive steps against disaster. They also resolved to continue exchange of information on possible disasters such as volcanic eruptions. A four-year activity plan was reviewed.
