Minister for Foreign
Affairs and Trade G.Zandanshatar is preparing a draft law to prohibit storage
or reprocessing of any other country’s spent nuclear fuel in Mongolia. The present
law is also quite categorical about this but the Minister feels further
assertion of Mongolia’s stance is needed in the wake of several reports in
foreign media suggesting the country was agreeable to act as a dumping site.
The Government is likely to discuss the issue this week.
