During his recent visit to the work area of PetroChina
Daquing Tamsag LLC, Prime Minister S.Batbold saw the truth in the complaints
from residents of Matad soum of Dornod aimag that the Chinese oil exploration company
did little or nothing for environmental protection.  The Government has now served a notice on the
company asking it to neutralize the polluting impact of its waste water, and to
take up environmental recovery of exploited areas as a legal obligation.
