This year’s month-long Green City-2011 Festival began at 12 noon today in the square of Sky Trade Center where a fair and an art performance are being held. The annual event organized  by the Ministry of Nature, Environment and Tourism will have some new features this year, according to  Deputy Minister Ch.Jargalsaikhan, who spoke to the media yesterday together with the Chiefs of the Water Office, the Forest Office and the Nature Protection Board of Ulaanbaatar.  For example, art and culture will be a component of the festival for the first time.

The four weeks of the festival will have different themes. The Forest Office will present a Green Zone in the first week, the Water Office a Blue Zone in the second, the Nature Protection Board a Light Environment in the third, and the Ministry will present an overall program in the concluding week.
