The State Specialized Inspecting Agency has asked the Mayor’s Office to immediately order the Standard Group LLC to stop construction work near the banks of the Tuul River, the source of drinking water for the city. The company was allowed in 2004 to build a tourist camp on 15.2 hectares and on a further 23.2 hectares in 2010.

The SSIA has found that the company cut down and burnt bushes and plants, and polluted the river in several ways. It also seriously violated laws on forests, water and water protection during its construction program.
