The Standing Committee on Nature, Environment, Food and Agriculture yesterday approved the draft National Water Program. Mongolia’s water sources are threatened. They are in remote areas and there is no proper technology or management practices to use them optimally.

Minister for Environment and Tourism L.Gansukh said the new program will have water inspectors stationed in mines and will also impose stricter regulations to prevent waste and misuse.

MP D.Enkhbat said the program is just a list of the daily routine work of the Ministry. MP G.Bayarsaikhan said the program must be improved with application of modern and efficient technology.
