The Government has decided to pay the tuition fees of all students who secure admission to any of 50 selected universities of the world. At present, the Government pays USD16,000 as scholarship to certain students in foreign universities. Prime Minister S.Batbold made this announcement as he received bright scholastic performers at Government House on April 29 and handed over certificates of achievement to them. Not all 44 students who did exceptionally well in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and IT Olympiads, organized by the state or some international organization, were, however, present. The Government offer to pay fees will apply to only those who graduate from accredited universities and institutes.

The Premier noted that a country can be competitive only if its citizens are well educated and that is why the Government is starting to adopt the Cambridge standard in schools. Minister for Education, Culture and Science Yo. Otgonbayar told the students their fees would be paid if they took admission next year, too.

Some of the parents present said the Government offer would open up big opportunities for many.
