Following his meetings with officials at the State Department, public institutes and research centers in Washington, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, D.Tsogtbaatar, called on the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, James Steinberg, for a comprehensive exchange of views on Mongolia leading the Association of Democratic Countries (ADC) between 2011 and 2013. Mongolian Ambassador Kh.Bekhbat, the U.S. Assistant of Secretary of East Asia and Pacific Affairs, Kurt Campbell, and other officials attended the meeting.

Both sides agreed on certain reforms to make the ADC more effective, such as strengthening the Permanent Secretariat, and the U.S. officials expressed their happiness that Mongolia has done so much home work about the ADC. They also reviewed the state of bilateral relations.

Tsogtbaatar addressed the 21st meeting of the North American Mongolian Business Council on the investment environment in Mongolia. About 80 delegates attended the meeting, including representatives of US Trade Department, Commerce Commission of Canada, the private sector and NGOs from the USA and Canada.
