The Chief of the Border Protection Office, Ts.Sergelen, told the Standing Committee on Justice yesterday that the decision to use professional army personnel on contract to protect parts of the borders from 2010 has led to a fall in the number of crimes. More care now has to be taken on proper training of the non-military border protection units and on improving their living conditions. The MPs asked him to prepare a detailed proposal with cost estimates that should be submitted to Parliament.
