The Civil Will Party and the Green Party yesterday invited leaders of other parties to join a discussion on election reforms. Those who came included the Chief of the DP, N.Altankhuyag, its Secretary General, D.Erdenebat, the Chief of the MPP group in Parliament, D.Lundeejantsan, the Leader of Republican Party, B.Jargalsaikhan, Secretary General of Traditional United Party B.Batbold, and MPs Kh.Temuujin and Kh.Jekei.

Most favored adopting the proportional system of representation but felt that many issues have to be resolved before this is done. Altankhuyag said under the present system of first-past-the-post the DP had once claimed 40% of the votes cast but won only seven seats in Parliament. Lundeejantsan said the MPP would work for a national consensus on election reform.
