Representatives of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry and the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry attended a discussion on the proposed raw material exchange yesterday, organized by the Standing Committee on Nature, Environment, Food and Agriculture. There was general support for the view that the Government should prepare a list of goods and semi-processed products to be traded on the exchange.

MP N.Ganbyamba opposed this, saying the Government should stay away from the exchange and allow trade there to follow the law of demand and supply. MP Ts.Sedvanchig noted that the experience of other countries showed that when a government regulated an exchange, trade there was limited to goods that were not acceptable in any other market. This would surely lead to the failure of the proposed market, he said.
