Speaking at the National Forum on Judicial Reform and Justice, MPRP MP Ts.Shinebayar yesterday said that the State Supreme Court had transferred the case of registration of the MPRP to the Constitutional Court as it was unsure of how to interpret and understand the law on political parties. In his opinion, courts have lost their independence and this was a “more important issue than adoption of European standards and raising salaries”.

MPRP Secretary General L.Tsog said judges remain obligated to those who appoint them and the practice of Parliament appointing judges should be scrapped. He said political pressure on the Supreme Court was the reason why it has not yet been able to decide on the MPRP case.
