The President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Thomas Mirow, called on Minister for Finance S.Bayartsogt on April 8. Mirow was in the country on the Minister’s invitation. Bayartsogt thanked the EBRD for its help to Mongolian business organizations in strengthening their management structure and in taking correct decisions.

The two discussed a wide range of issues financial, economic and budgetary, expressed satisfaction at the state of cooperation between the Government and the EBRD and were optimistic that this will grow stronger. Mongolia joined the EBRD in 2000, and has drawing rights. So far the EBRD has invested or lent USD400 million in Mongolia.
