KOIKA, the international cooperation organization of South Korea, will fund and implement the USD22.6-million project to supply drinking water to the 100,000 apartments the Government of Mongolia will build in Nisekh Yarmag. Following a memorandum signed by Prime Minister S.Batbold during his official visit to South Korea, a protocol on the project was signed yesterday between the General Manager of Ulaanbaatar City, Ch.Bat, and the President of KOIKA, Pak De Von.

Small hydro power stations will be built, but solar energy will also be used extensively. Every household will have a water meter to reduce wastage. The project will be implemented between 2011 and 2013.
