A routine consultative meeting between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and Lithuania was held yesterday in the latter’s capital Vilnius. The Mongolian team at the meeting was led by the State Secretary of the Ministry, D.Tsogtbaatar, and that of Lithuania by the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, A.S.Lyaushkene.

The meeting reviewed the state of present relations between Mongolia and Lithuania and discussed how this could be strengthened through high level visits and new cooperation programs in trade, economic and educational affairs, and by organizing business forums.
The two sides also discussed issues related to the Organization of European Safety and Cooperation, which Lithuania will head in 2011. Mongolia will assume the Chair of the Democratic Countries’ Cooperation Association on July 1 and Tsogtbaatar met with the Lithuanian Special Purpose Ambassador, Ina Marchuinnite, about this.
