The Chief of Administration at the Blood Center, N.Khaliun, answers our journalist’s questions on the position of blood stock.

How much blood does the center have at present?
We have 1,000 units ready to use and 480 units under preparation. This
is adequate, even for emergency needs like accidents or sudden outbreaks
of an infectious disease.

How many donors do you get on an average day?
Yesterday there were 62. The number varies between 60 and 90 and
anything above 60 meets our needs. Today was very good, as we had 30
regular donors and 63 students of the Railway Institute.

Some 16,000 donors gave blood in 2010 and we supplied blood and 10 types of blood preparations to 40 hospitals.
