Prime Minister S.Batbold  yesterday received representatives of the Kazakh people on the occasion of Nau Roz, a special traditional celebration for the Kazakh people to mark the beginning of a new year as spring follows winter and to show respect to elder people. He greeted the Kazakh people and wished them all the best.
The Kazakh team made several requests. One was for an hour’s daily broadcast in Kazakh language on the Mongolian National Public Television Broadcasting Channel as most Kazakhs are not proficient in Mongolian. Another was for new appointments in the cultural field. The Theater of Bayan-Ulgii aimag has no producer, conductor and artist at present. The dombor ensemble had 50 musicians when it was established in 1959 but the strength has fallen to 12. They also submitted a 10-year development plan for Bayan-Ulgii aimag.
Batbold said he visited 18 aimags in 2010 to study their problems and Government Ministries are working on resolving them. He assured the team that Minister for Education, Culture and Science Yo.Otgonbayar and Deputy Minister Ch.Kulanda will consider their requests.
