Both the number of passengers and the volume of freight transported by the railway decreased greatly in the first 11 months of 2009 compared to the same period of the previous year. Altogether 12,819.79 thousand tons of freight was transported and the number of passengers was 2863.4 thousand. The freight amount is down by 7.4 percent while the passengers are 29.5 percent less.
