Parliament’s rejection of the President’s veto on the State Budget for 2010 means that every MP will now get MNT1 billion to spend in their constituency. The President was against this but he is not blaming Parliament for not agreeing with him; instead, he is blaming his advisers for not being able to correctly explain his position.

Unconfirmed reports say President .Elbegdorj called his law adviser G.Ganzorig to his room and rebuked his sternly for his failure. During the Parliamentary discussion of the veto, Ts.Elbegdorj was attending the climate conference in Copenhagen. It was left to Ganzorig and the presidential adviser on economic issues, P.Tsagaan, to defend and elucidate the President’s action.
